Death
PELHAM, N.C. - Elizabeth (Liz) Reynolds Furr, 80, of 282 Forest Drive, Pelham, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in declining health for several years, and in the hospital for one week. Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Callands, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Page Reynolds and the late Della Frances Reynolds Reynolds. She lived most of her life in the Mountain Hill community of Pittsylvania County before moving to Pelham. She worked for Dan River Inc. for a number of years as well as Burlington Industries before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was married to the late Robert Henry Furr. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia F. McCann of Pelham and Sandra F. Hoover of Providence; two sisters, Cora D. Reynolds of Ringgold and Peggy R. Hubbard of Williamsburg; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Richard Henry Furr and Silas Frankie Furr. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Robert Vermillion officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel; at other times they will be at the residence of her daughter, Patricia McCann, 282 Forest Drive, Pelham.
