Death
BELMONT — Hoyle S. Furr, 66, died Saturday in a Gastonia hospital. Funeral services were scheduled for 4 p.m. today in Carothers Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel in Belmont. Burial was to follow services in Greenwood Cemetery. Officiating at the funeral service was to be the Rev. M. T. Sparks, pastor of E. Belmont Free Will Baptist Church. Scheduled to assist was the Rev. John Newton. Surviving are his wile, Mrs. Bessie Thomas Furr; four sons, Day of Oak Park, Ill., Roy of the U.S. Air Force in Ohio, Coy of Panama City, Fla., and Otis Furr of Belmont; one step-son, James Parker of the USAF, stationed in Florida; two brothers, Horace Furr and Marshall Furr of Concord; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Motley and Mrs. Inez Long of Concord; and nine grandchildren.The Gastonia Gazette, Gastonia, North Carolina, August 26, 1968
