Death

Funeral rites were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Roberta United Methodist Church in Concord for Mrs. Mary Furr Motley, 68, of Route 2, Concord, who died at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning. Mrs. Motley was a native of Stanly County, widow of the late David A. Motley, and was a member of Roberta Methodist Church. Rev. Warren Hawks and Rev. David Gales officiated at the rites. Burial was in the church cemetery. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Mildred Craven, Mrs. Nell Holloman, Mrs. Margaret Fulham, all of Concord; Mrs. Alice Blackwelder of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Sarah Tobin of Charlotte, and Mrs. Martha Linker of Winston-Salem; six sons, Earl, Lewis and Fred Motley of Concord, Clyde Motley of Rockwell, Zeb Motley of the U. S. Navy and Dwight Motley of Goldsboro; one half-sister, Mrs. Inez Long of Concord; two half-brothers, Marshall Furr of Concord and Horace Furr of rise deals and 22 grandchildren.
