Death
KANNAPOLIS — Mrs. Naomi Furr Kirby, 60, of 521 Broad Street died last night at 7:45 o'clock at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital after several years of ill health. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the West Point Baptist Church with the Rev. William Taylor officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Coy C. Privette and the Rev. Paul Gibson. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the home Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Kirby was born November 25, 1912, in York County, S.C, to the late Frank Furr and Estelle Snipes Smith. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church and lived in the Kannapolis community for 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Albert D. Kirby, her mother; four daughters, Mrs. Faye Maxine Leonard, and Mrs. Pat Fisher, both of Kannapolis and Mrs. Barbara Taylor and Mrs. Shirley Fralick, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, Gary L. (Buck) Kirby and Ronnie D. Kirby of China Grove, Ravon M. Kirby of Granite Quarry, Barry A. Kirby of Salisbury, three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Hollar, Mrs. Claudine Lafevers and Mrs. Irene Thronberg all of Kannapolis, three brothers, the Rev. W. T. Furr of Elkins, A. B. Hammett and Carl Hammett, both of Kannapolis, 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.Endnotes
