Death

Rita Furr Kohn, 76, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on November 9, 2024. Rita was born December 19, 1947. She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Kohn, her son Reid Kohn and his wife Melissa Brown of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Jordan Faulkner (Hope) of Monroe, NC and Walker Faulkner of Salisbury, NC, great-grandchildren Gunner, Shayleah, and Makyla, and brother-in-laws Rudy (Betsy) and Dan (Robin) Kohn. She is predeceased by her daughter Wendy Kohn and a granddaughter Marissa Faulkner. Rita retired from Mansfield Dentistry as a dental assistant, and she also worked as a substitute teacher. She loved baking pies, and was an avid reader who especially loved reading Jan Karon's Midford Series. She was also a die-hard fan of the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Cubs. Rita was a daughter of a very close family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care in Albemarle.
