Death
Stamford, Texas - Patricia Ann Furr, 87, passed away March 5, 2024. Viewing and Visitation will be 10am Friday March 8, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Stamford, Texas. Funeral service will start at 11am, also at First Baptist Church, Stamford. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Stamford, Texas. Patricia Ann Furr went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the age of 87. Patty was born September 14, 1936 to Thurman Crawford Rice and Jewell Juanita Pritchett. She married the love of her life Charles Furr in Stamford, Texas on July 29, 1955. They made their home in Stamford and raised three children together. Patty was known to many, as she worked at Stamford banks for over 50 years. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Stamford Texas, where she was a lifelong member. She loved the Lord and this was evident in the way she treated everyone she came in contact with. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman Rice and Jewell Glover and her husband of 66 years, Charles Furr. Survivors include children Sharon Wilson (Scott Girdner of Abilene) of Stamford, Marc Furr, of Stamford and Chuck Furr (Heather) of Azle, Tx, grandchildren, Shalon Gilbreath, Haylee Furr, Michaela Kossey (Kolton), Lauren Razo (Robert), Cullen Furr, and Angel Olson Deanda; great granddaughter, Oaklynn Kossey; brothers T.C. Rice, Jr, (Carolyn) and Jerry Rice (Cheryl) and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 10 AM Friday morning March 8 followed by service at 11 AM at First Baptist Church in Stamford, Texas.Endnotes
