Death
Adam Levi Furr, 89, a retired Arkansas farmer and local resident for three years, died Wednesday in an Oroville hospital after several months of ill health. Born Oct. 22, 1872, in Arkansas, Mr. Furr was a retired farmer. He moved to Gridley in 1959 from Richmond. He lived on Evans-Reimer Road, southwest of Gridley. His wife, Hattie, died in 1949. Survivors include: five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Hammer of Gridley, Mrs. Ethel Hopson and Mrs. Ruth Webb of Muskogee, Okla., Mrs. Eta Furr of Gridley, and Mrs. Valleta Mehs of Sacramento; five sons, Emsy and Annis, both of Muskogee, Oran of Gridley, Truman of Sacramento, and Paul of Richmond; one brother, Ira Furr of Arkansas; a sister, May Roberts of Arkansas, 29 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Muskogee on Monday.The Gridley Herald, Gridley, California, October 12, 1962
