Death

GASTONIA Carroll Gene Speights, 63, 605 Townsend Ave., died July 2, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Stanley, son of the late William and Bertha Furr Speights, Army veteran, member of Faith Baptist Church, Gastonia, where he was a chairman of the deacon board, Sunday school teacher, church trustee, retired from Wyndham Garden Hotel and Resort, Charlotte.
SURVIVORS: Wife Georgia Campbell Speights; sons and daughters-in-law Troy and Debbie Speights, Long Beach, Richard and Sharon Beaver, Monroe; son Stuart Speights, Gastonia; daughters and sons-in-law Gina Bingham, Fort Mill, S.C., Margie and Terry Meadows, Jacksonville; brothers and sisters-in-law Gerald and Rita Speights, Lucasville, Ohio, Jerry and Faye Speights, Albemarle; sister and brother-in-law Janice and Jerry Paige, Oakboro; 11 grandchildren.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Sons Jeffrey David Speights, baby; daughter Carol Speights.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday, Faith Baptist Church, Rev. Jerry Mobley.
ENTOMBMENT: Gaston Memorial Park.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. Friday, Greene Funeral Service Southside Chapel, other times at the home.
