Notes
Death
One of the saddest incidents, that has occurred in this community, the passing away of Miss Pinkie Furr, daughter of Mr. John Furr of McBride. Her death was due to the result of measles forming an abscess on the brain. She was on her way to a sanatorium, in Memphis, but growing suddenly worse stopped here at the residence of Rev. S. R. Young, where in spite of medical skill and tenderest ministering, surrounded with all the members of her most devoted family, she breathed her last Sunday morning, the 7th inst. She buried at Pleasant Hill cemetery, the services conducted by Revs. Young and Thurman. She was nineteen years old and the “pride and joy of her familiar sphere. And on her bright, brief journey had gathered up great treasures of affection." Mr. and Mrs. John Shelton and their five daughters, Dr. Furr, Mrs. Walter Shelton, Mrs. Abb. Shelton, Mrs. Cleve Smith have been here, for the past week, at tending the bedside of the late Miss Pinkie Furr.Endnotes
