Marriage
Dan Furr of Lonoke and Miss Carrie Brietz of Hamilton stole a march on their friends and were quietly married in Little Rock July 3rd. They did not reveal the secret to their friends and relatives, however, until a few days ago. The groom is one of Lonoke's most popular young men and holds an important position with the Lesser-Goldman Cotton Co., of Little Rock. The bride is the daughter of Dr. S. J. Brietz of Hamilton and is highly popular in that community. She also has a large circle of friends in Carlisle. Death
Mrs. Caroline B. Furr, 83, a long-time city resident, died Friday at St. Anthony Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sherman Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Furr was born in Carlisle, Ark, and was the daughter. of the pioneer Arkansas physician, Dry Albert Brietz. She came to Oklahoma City from Perry in 1930. She was a member. of the Wesley House Board, the Hospitality Club, and was a former assistant director of the Baptist Home for Children in Tahlequah. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Harry L., Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Carl W. Smith Jr., 10020 Mahler Place; a brother, Clarence J. Brietz, Harrisburg, Ark., and four sisters,. Mrs. J. P. Hubbard, Mrs. Gus Holt, and Mrs. Dale Hubbard, all of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Agres Pozanski, Little Rock.The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, December 19, 1970
