Death
OKLAHOMA CITY Born in Lonoke, Arkansas, Nina moved to Oklahoma as a child. She was a wonderful, fun-loving lady known for her generosity to her family, friends and community. Nina was active in several charities, including Suited for Success, Christmas Connection and founding member of High Noon. After graduating with a Bachelor's in English from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK, Nina pursued a career with the Oklahoma City Public School system. She was later the Director of Public Relations at Oklahoma City University and created her own public relations firm, Prairie Arts Inc. Nina passed away April 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl W. Smith, Jr.; and brother, Neal Furr of Oklahoma City. She is survived by second husband, T.C. Leckie of Oklahoma City; son and wife, Carl Michael and Kay Smith of Oklahoma City; brother, Harry Lee Furr of Oklahoma City; nieces: Carol Furr Robinson of Philadelphia, PA; and Sherry Stephens of Fort Worth, TX; and nephews: Kirk Furr of Little Rock, AR; and David Furr of Shawnee, OK. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 W. Hefner Rd. in Oklahoma City.
