Death
ARCOLA - Funeral services for Gladys Lucille King Furr, 92, of Cleveland and formerly of Arcola, a postal clerk, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Aug. 3, 2005, at Indywood Estate Personal Care Home, Cleveland. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville. She was a native of Straight Bayou and attended public schools in Anguilla and Delta City. She had made her home in Arcola since 1946 where she was employed with the Arcola Post Office as a postal clerk for 22 1/2 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.G. Furr, in 2000 and a grandson, Ken Greer, in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Tresa Furr Greer (Ted) of Hollandale and Myrtis Furr Mosley (Sherman) of Greenville; a sister, Odell King Jones of Rolling Fork; a brother, Ernest King of Pascagoula; five grandchildren, Thomas G. Mosley, James Randall Greer (Wanda), Susan Mosley Glasco (Xan), Leesa Greer Knight (Jon) and Tiffany Lynn Greer; and six great-grandchildren, Lacy Mosley Smith (Lynn), Jessica Knight, Jonathan Knight, Heather Greer, Michael Mosley and Alexandra Glasco. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.Endnotes
