Mellye was a very dear and wonderful lady who was responsible for a lot of Furr family information. She had a stroke in 1993 and was unable to effectively communicate from that point. Her daughter, Erlene, has her records in Hollandale, Mississippi.

Death
ROLLING FORK - Mellye Pierce Furr, 92, homemaker and former teacher, died of heart failure Tuesday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home in Hollandale with burial in Hollandale City Cemetery. Mortimer Funeral Home in Greenville has charge. She had attended Teacher's School in Wesson and was a member of Delta City Baptist Church. Mrs. Furr, the widow of Dewey Furr, leaves two daughters, Erlene Clark of Hollandale and Etta 'Tincie' Westbrook of Mobile, Ala.; a son, D. A. 'Buck' Furr of Hollandale; a sister, Elva Abbott of Port Gibson; two brothers, H. A. Pierce of Bullhead City, Ariz., and A. J.
