BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Carl Leanard Furr, 87, of Bakersfield, formerly of Fort Smith, died Saturday, Jan. 20 , 2001, in Bakersfield. He was born March 3, 1913, in Fort Smith. He was a shoe repairman. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. today at Hill Crest Memorial Park under the direction of Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors in Bakersfield. He is survived by one daughter, Carlene Uptigrove of Booneville; four sons, Robert Furr of Taft, Calif., and Dale, Curtis, and Carl Furr Jr., all of Bakersfield; one brother, Henry Furr of Dyer; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.Endnotes
