Death
CONCORD - Ivy Beatrice Dulin Furr, 92, of 3030 Zion Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Carolina Medical Center, University. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roberta United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Wall officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Mrs. Furr was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Francis Marion Dulin and the late Lucy Stowe Dulin. She was employed as a spinner at Cannon Mills for 50 years. She was a member of the Busy Bees of Roberta United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Furr; brother, Floyd Dulin; half sisters, Annie D. Cochran, Ester D. Hill and May S. Paysuer; and half brothers, Caldwell Dulin, Arthur Stowe and Caldwell Stowe. Survivors include her daughters, Hilda Furr Robinson of Concord; sons, Donald B. Furr of Anderson, S.C., and Kenneth E. Furr of Concord; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family meeting place will be the home at 3030 Zion Hill Church Road, Concord. Memorials may be made to Roberta United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 3925 Cochran Road, Concord, NC 28027. The family wishes to thank Carolinas Medical Center, University, Charlotte, fourth floor staff, Dr. Beril Cakir, The Hospice Palliative Care and Dr. Robert Smith for their excellent care.
