Mrs. Betty Jean Furr Davis, 68, retired licensed practical nurse at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in Concord, died March 17, 1995, at home. Funeral is 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors are her husband, Weldon; son, Timothy Michael Davis of Concord; daughters, Ms. Elizabeth (Davis) Weaver of Charlotte, Ms. Sylvia Gail (Thompson) Overcash; mother, Ms. Annie Furr of Concord; brothers, Jake Furr of Lake Norman, Bob Furr of Charlotte; sisters, Ms. Phyllis Yoder of Winter Springs, Fla., Ms. Carolyn Goldston of Fort Myers, Fla., Ms. Jewel Isenhour. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, P.O. Box 1235, Concord, NC 28025.KANNAPOLIS - Betty Jean Furr Davis, 68, of 1550 Cooper St. died Friday (March 17, 1995) at her home after two years of declining health. Born Dec. 14, 1926, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Annie Ballard Furr of Concord and the late Jacob Eli Furr. A retired LPN with Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, she served as director of the LPN Association for six years. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was formerly active in the senior citizens center. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include husband Weldon LaVern Davis; son Tim Davis, Concord; daughters Gail Overcash, Kannapolis, and Beth Weaver, Charlotte; brothers Jake Furr, Lake Norman, and Bob Furr, Charlotte; sisters Jewel Isenhour, Kannapolis, Phyllis Yoder, Winter Springs, Fla, and Carolyn Goldston, Fort Myers, Fla; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 2 pm. Monday, Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Parker. Burial in Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on Cooper Street.
