Notes
Alt name
His last name was spelled with a "c" as in Mockley. Other documents do not have the "c".In the handwritten line of the deceased person's name, it appears the the name was written without the "c" and a "c" was inserted. Then at the end of the line, "(Mockley)" was added, supposedly for clarity that the "c" should be there.
The informant was his son Bernard and his name also had the :c:.
Although Bernard was misspelled (Brenard).
Additionally, there is no "o" in the first name on the death certificate. That may have just been a misspelling by the person filling in the form.
Birth
The baptismal record says that he was baptized on 2 Dec 1858 and that the infant born in the past month, thus he muct have been born in November 1858.Marriage
This was his first marriage and her second.Her name is given as Mrs. Ella Hawkins. It is unknown if that is her maiden name, or her married name.
Occupation
In a telephone conversation with Julia Ann Brown Herrin on 6 May 2024, she told me that Terri King (a granddaughter of Stella Mokley) told her that Nick Mokley had been a police officer. (Aunt Julie remembered this since Mike, her son, was a cop.)Endnotes
