I believe that this is Evan Bates Brown because the given death date matches that given by other sources. I believe that this birth date is probably an estimate and should not be taken literally.Death
A mariner, he drowned in the Potomac River when the mainsail of a schooner fell and knocked him from the deck.Note that one article identifies him as "colored", a mistake that was corrected in the article shown with the burial fact.
