Nathaniel Lardner was born in 1804 in Leafield, Oxfordshire, England (but the 1851 census suggests a date of 1806). He fathered an illegitimate child with Elizabeth Souch, who eventually married Nathaniel's brother William. Nathaniel married Elizabeth Akers on 27 May 1831 at Shipton under Wychwood, Oxfordshire. Together they had five children prior to his death Oct-Dec 1854 in Witney, Oxfordshire. Elizabeth survived him.
