Rhoda Wineland's siblings "Two of [Rhoda's] brothers went west. Charles went to OR; no contact that I'm aware of. Herbert went to OK...(David Wineland must have passed on to his children some pretty good minds, as well as his temper!) Uncle Herbert got into oil. I was young when he sent to Dad a couple of shares of oil stock he was starting. Half a dozen years later he wrote and said 'Harvey, it would be a good time to sell those shares if you'll send them to me' and we each got $100. He continued in the oil business...Uncle Ben, the oldest of the [Wineland] sons stayed in Springfield and must have read for the law. When [Carol] was less than a year old, [he] and his wife and son stopped at the house; he was past 80 and had just been elected to his 7th term as circuit court judge in Springfield IL. Uncle Ben's son was studying law at the time.
Here was a hot-headed father but children that really made the most of certain opportunities."

Curt Castner 18 Aug 2007: "They had seven children: Earl, Ivan, Mabel, Howard, LeVelle, Ethel and Carl. The children scattered and lived in California, Oregon and Texas. James and Cora Neher and Carl settled in Pomona, California...Carl lived with his parents as he was mentally retarded."
