John is believed to have married Jane/Jenny Colclough.

Warren Co NC Will Book 5
p.164 May Court, 1790. Estate of Benjamin Colclough, dec'd, John Colclough Administrator. [I believe Benjamin was likely a brother of Jane & Frances Colclough who married John's brother James Moseley. John Colclough another sibling.] There were expenses of the estate in 1782, for two men, 39 days of travel to Fairfax VA. Equal payments were made to James Mitchell [married to Nancy Colclough, another sibling], Hinchea Baker [or Barker, likely husband of Behethalem Colclough, another sibling], William Shearin [married to Elizabeth Colclough, another sister], and to Rice, Mary, Frances & Alexander Colclough.
Others named in recipts and disbursements were James Moseley & John Moseley, & to John Moseley Jr [these could have been payments to the same John]

In 1787 [WB 4 of Warren Co], Margaret Shearin had mortgaged her inheritance from her father William Colclough and her grandmother Rachel Colclough to her brother Benjamin Colclough to secure a debt of over 17#'s dued on Dec. 27th.

The father of the Colclough siblings above was William Colclough, born 2 Jul 1716, St. Paul's Parish, Stafford Co VA. He married Mary Rogers in the same Parish, 30 Dec 1741. The three oldest of their children were baptized at St. Paul's: John on 14 Sep 1743; Margaret on 4 Feb 1744/5; Elizabeth, 11 Oct 1747.
Margaret married Henry Foote - her father gave his permission in Fairfax Co, 29 May 1760. She married (2) to Henry Shearin circa 1777 and (3) to Philip Burford, after 1781.
Elizabeth married William Shearin.
Other children were Benjamin, see estate settlement above; Alexander, Rice, Jane [Jean - the names were interchangeable] who married John Moseley, Anne "Nancy" who married James Mitchell, Mary, Frances who married James Moseley, and Beheathland/Beheathalem who probably was married to Hinchea Baker/Barker.

Warren Co WB 6
p.191 John Colclough was also Executor of his father William. At the February Court, 1793, he made payments called "grandmother legacies". These would have been their inheritance from their grandmother Rachel Colclough, mother of William - her surname is unknown, but she was the husband of Benjamin Colclough and her will was dated 19 Dec 1748 in Stafford Co VA. Among her many legacies were lands to sons Robert and William [apparently the only sons although there were several daughters] - William to have half of her land in Fairfax County. William was also to have the land where Rachel was living in Stafford Co. William received slaves and a gray mare and was asked to give a bed she had lent him to her negro Nell who was one of the slaves he was to receive. Also in the will was "unto Robert Colclough & William Colclough's Children, all my money in the house and in Maj. John Champs hands to be equally divided between the said Children" This will explains the trip to Fairfax as noted in the estate account of Benjamin Colclough above.
Payments were made to Amy Bell, Isaac Acree, John Shearin, Dr. Brehon, Robert Turnbull, John Moseley [probably in right of his wife Jane Colclough], Wm. Shearin [in right of his wife Elizabeth Colclough], Thomas Miller, John Wright, Samuel Walker, Sterling Shearin, Marget Shearin, John Colclough. [I believe many of the above were actually great grandchildrn of Rachel]

There was also a report of an estate sale, 10 & 11 of December in 1789, apparently indicating that William Colclough had also died in Warren Co. Buyers included William Shearin, Hencha Baker, James Moseley, Mary Colclough, James Mitchell, Marget Shearin, Rice Colclough, John Moseley, John Colclough.

Mary Colclough, daughter of William & Mary Rogers, died unmarried.

p.114 27 May 1794. May Court 1794. Estate of Mary Colclough, dec'd, James Mosely, Admr. Security with Hardwick Walker for bond of 200#'s.
p. 121 Will of Mary Colclough dated 19 Mar 1794. Named Elibeth Mitchel [no relationship noted, perhaps a niece?]; sisters Jenney [presumably Jane Mosley]; Nancy Michel, Francis Moseley & Behethalem Barker. Wit: Hardwick Walker & Benjamin Waler. James Mosely qualified as Administrator.

John Colcough's will was dated 3 Jan 1803 and is in Warren Co Will Book 12, p.61. His wife's name was Lucy; she was named Executrix. Daughters were Sally Colclough, Mary Bell, Betsy Center/Senter, Nancy Colclough, and Fanny Acree. His sons were William and Benjamin. James & Grigsby Colclough were also named but with no relationship noted.
