After Doughty. died in 1854, the family moved to Savannah, Illinois (presumably Savanna, Carroll County) for about a year, and later to Dresbach, Winona, Minnesota (across the Mississippi from La Crosse, Wisconsin).
Lydia was said to have later married a Mr. Carr who died when their one son Frank was about a year old. The 1860 census (Dresbach Post Office) showed "L Daughty" with "Francis Daughty" (age 4, born in Wisconsin) and four of her other children, all with surname "Daughty." The 1865 Minnesota state census for Winona County included Frank Doughty in the household of Lydia Doughty [indexed as "Daughty," given names "Sydia" and "Frunk"].
The 1880 census shows Lydia Doughty in the home of her son Richard Edward Doughty in Lincoln County, Minnesota. She was said to have also lived with her son Robert Milton Doughty in Pipestone County, and to have died at his home at Claremont at the age of 78.
