At that time his children and their ages were: John 18, Andrew 16, Esther 14, Mary 11, William 9, Samuel 4, and a child unborn [no further record on this unborn child]. Administration was granted to the widow. The order of distribution mentions that the eldest son had 10£ by the will of his grandmother [Hester Ward - apparently her 9# gift had accumulated interest]. William Harris, father of the widow, and Mr. Hamlin, were appointed to assist the widow.

Mary married a second time to Josiah Gilbert of Wethersfield.

Administration was granted on the estate of Mary Gilbert of Middletown on 4 Mar 1728/9 to her son William Ward. Daughters Esther Cornwell of Middletown and Mary Percival of Haddam testified.
