Individual Details

William Ward

(Abt 1632 - 1675)

William died in the Narragansett War in the "Great Swamp Fight". Accompanied troops from Fairfield County as Surgeon in King Philip's War, Jan 1675/6.

Inventory of his estate gave his name as Ens. William Ward. It was dated 4 Mar 1675/6; the widow made oath.

Report of the First Reunion of the Association of Descendants of Andrew Ward, 1905, apparently identifies a different William Ward. That book states William was likely born about 1645 and died 1701, aged 56. He wasn't named in his father's will of 1659. Since William married Deborah Lockwood in 1658, this seems to be the wrong William Ward.
