Edgar Niles HUMISTON

According to his obituary, Edgar originally came to Fayette with his brother, Joe Humiston, and for a time they operated a bakery together. A year after the move, Edgar became involved in the operation of the Fayette House with Hiram Canfield,and two years after his arrival in Fayette, he married Minnie Canfield.

Birth

Although his obituary reports that he was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the census records all indicate that he was born in Iowa. Beth Humiston's research states that he was born in Tama, Iowa.
