Francis Xavier "Frank" BEAUDOIN

(1864 - 24 Feb 1950)

Biography, from find-a-Grave memorial #102153841:
Frank married Esther Hunter, daughter of Andrew and Ann Eliza Hunter, on 1 March 1900. Esther had a homestead in Oxford Township, Hamlin County just north of the Five Ponds, near Clear Lake, coming in 1892 with her brother Robert and sister Margaret. Esther rode a bicycle from Yankton, where she was staying, to Sisseton where she taught in the Indian School. Esther and Frank continued to make their home on the old Boadwine family homestead. They had a family of six children: Lucille Kuester, Lyle, Frank, Ruth, Frederick and Esther Johnson. Ruth died at age 19.
In 1941, Frank and Esther moved to Watertown. Frank, Jr. and his family moved onto the farm and resided there for 30 years until they retired in 1972, when they moved to Castlewood and later to Dell Rapids. The David Gilliland family moved onto the farm. Oxford No. 4 district school, of which Mr. Boadwine was treasurer for 28 years, was closed for the service.
