George Bunyon Kirkpatrick was born 27 March 1902 [1901] and died 26 March 1961. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Lawn, Chester County, South Carolina. On 2 January 1944 he married Evelyn McMath of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
There were two (2) children born of the marriage.
The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Thursday, March 30, 1961, Page 36, Col. 1: Lancaster---G. B. Kirkpatrick 60, of Fort Lawn, died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening after a heart attack. He was the son of the late John Henry and Hattie Gladney Kirkpatrick of Chester County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn McMath Kirkpatrick, and a son, Kenneth Michael Kirkpatrick of the home; three sisters, Mrs. E. G. Crosby of Fort lawn, Mrs. W. G. Anderson of Chester and Mrs. A. E. Milli of Edgemont, N. C.; three brothers, J. A. of Fort Lawn, D. A. of Bishopville and J. M. Kirkpatrick of Columbus, Ga., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Fort Lawn Methodist Church by the Rev. Thomas Wilkes, the Rev. J. R. Lender, and the Rev. R. E. Seignious and the Rev. Berkley Helms. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
