Wichita Falls Times, Wichita Falls, Texas, Friday, June 5, 1970, Page 24, Col. 3: Harrold Crash Claims 2 Lives. Vernon, Tex. (Special)---Two men were killed at 7:26 p.m. Thursday on U. S. 287 about one mile east of Harrold when their automobiles collided. Dead were Grover C. Tirey, 53, of Oklaunion and Robert E. Overstreet, 27, of Floydada, Tex.

Texas Highway Patrolman Gerald Howard of Vernon investigated. Tirey, owner of Tirey Service Center, one mile east of east of Harrold, had lived in Wilbarger County since 1945. Born July 8, 1916, in Maypearl, Tex., he married Gertrude Williams in Frederick, Okla., July 4, 1941. Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronald of Harrold; and his mother, Mrs. Ethel Mercer of Dallas.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Vernon First Baptist Church. The Rev. Preson Manley, Petrolia minister and the Rev. Jack Duncan, Oklaunion pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Overstreet's'' body is being returned to Floydada for burial.
