Kenneth Dean Chandler

(25 Jul 1926 - Apr 2007)

Posted at findagrave.com: A celebration of the life of Kenneth D. Chandler will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens. He passed away peacefully in his home with his beloved wife of 50 years, Georgia, his two daughters Debbie Morrison, Diana Franklin and his son-in-law Ronald Morrison by his side. Ken was one of three [four] sons of Amanda and Dutch Chandler. He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma in 1926. He was one of those people who always looked at life as an adventure. He served his country in the US Navy in WWII and in the Korean War. He could never understand why he was awarded with medals for saving his fellow soldier's lives as he thought that was just part of fighting a war. He worked at Horton Ford for 37 years. He loved to work and continued to work at his 'dream job' at Steve's Wholesale Tools until a couple of months before his death. He not only worked hard, he played hard. He loved to ride his motorcycle, play golf, devote his time to the India Shrine work, and build doll houses for children who were burn victims. He is also survived by his brothers, Ralph and Ferman Chandler; two grandsons Allen and Shane; and four great grandchildren. His brother Robert Chandler passed before him. His family would like to thank Mercy Hospice who allowed Ken to pass away at home in comfort. Especially Sabrina, Robin and Evelyn. The family would like donations to be made to Mercy Hospice. RESTHAVEN FUNERAL HOME S.W. 104TH AT WALKER 691-1661. Published in The Oklahoman on 4/8/2007.
