Posted at findagave.com: Laverne Chapman Jackson, 68, died Sunday at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
She was born June 23, 1923 in Texas. She married Billy Jackson April 15, 1955 in Vernon, Texas. She graduated from Altus High School in 1941. She attended Oklahoma University where she graduated from the OU Nursing Program in 1944 as a registered nurse. She was director of nurses at Jackson County Memorial Hospital from 1950 to 1971. She became the director of the Altus House Nursing home 1971-83 and administrative director of English Village Nursing home from 1975 to 1982. She completed her certified Nursing Home Administrative Degree in 1972 from OU. She developed the nursing home wing and was director of nurses at the Frederick hospital from 1985 to 1989 when she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and of the Oklahoma Nursing Home Administrators Association.
Survivors include her husband Bill Jackson of Altus. [the obit ends]. Other information must have been left off due to privacy issues.
