The Altus Times-Democrat, Altus, Oklahoma, August 4, 1958, Front Page, Col. 6: R. B. Chapman Dies, Rites Set Tuesday. R. B. Chapman, 73 year old native of Oklahoma, died at 8:05 ( ) Saturday in Memorial hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist church with Rev. C. A. Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Altus cemetery will be under the direction of Tims Funeral Home. Chapman was born July 12, 1885 in Oklahoma and had lived ( )Oklahoma for 31 years. He was married to Miss Rhoda Bell Jan. 18, 1904. He is survived by his wife of the home address, 621 N. Grady, three sons, Leo Chapman of Los Angeles, Calif., C. Chapman of Altus and Leonard Chapman of Marshall, Tex., four daughters, Mrs. B. W. C( ) and Mrs. R ( ) Zech of Oklahoma, City, Mrs. Gwen Sumers and Mrs. B ( ) Jackson of Altus; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Dora Cline of Altus.
