Willie Bert Stewart was born 30 August 1908, the third child of Charles Franklin and Luna Annice Stewart. In July of 1929 she married Marvin Earl Taylor, son of Perry and Rachel Louvenia (Martin) Taylor. Marvin was born on 121 April 1907 in Leake County, Mississippi. He moved with his family to Monroe County in December of 1925. Marvin was a carpenter. He served as business representative and financial secretary for the Carpenters Local Union No. 387 from 1951 through 1978, the year that he retired. Willie Bert served as office secretary for the carpenters union during those years. Willie Bert died 13 April 1982 and is buried in the Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamilton, Monroe County, Mississippi.
