McKinney Daily Courier Gazette, McKinney, Texas, Monday, March 25, 1912, Page 8, Col. 4: Meningitis at Farmersville. A severe case of meningitis developed at Farmersville early today. Otis Aycock, the 11-year-old son of A. S. J. Aycock was suddenly stricken, and the report late this afternoon, is that the boy can not possibly recover. He was at Sunday school Sunday morning, was stricken about 5 o'clock this morning, and physicians immediately summoned. He was reported dead late this afternoon, but the report could not be confirmed.

McKinney Daily Courier Gazette, McKinney, Texas, Thursday, March 28, 1912, Page 4, Col. 3: Ottis* Aycock Passes Away. Ottis*, the 14** year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. J. Aycock of Farmersville, died at their home at that place Monday of meningitis. He had been sick some two or three days, although from the time the case developed into meningitis he only lived five hours. The interment was made Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at that place. We extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones.
