Aycock died almost instantly when the car he was driving turned over as he attempted to pass another car. Ted Green and Joe Carver, also of Farmersville, were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Funeral services for J. Prentice Aycock, 39, who was killed near Brownsville Monday afternoon in an automobile accident, were held at the Farmersville Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. services were conducted by Rev. Chas. Thomas, pastor of the Methodist church of which the deceased was a member and by Rev. Oliphant, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Odd Fellows' cemetery at Farmersville under the direction of the Perry Funeral home of that city.
The deceased and Joe Carver, also of Farmersville, were in Brownsville for the purpose of buying onion plants. With them in the car was a Mr. Green of Raymondville an onion dealer. According to bystanders, Mr. Aycock, driver of the car, lost control of the machine which swerved off the road and plunged headlong into the embankment at the side of the highway. Mr. Aycock met death almost instantly, when his chest was crushed. Mr. Carver is in a hospital in Brownsville suffering from a fractured leg and other injuries. He is expected to recover, although his injuries are painful.
J. P. Aycock was a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. J. Aycock of Farmersville, who survive. He is also survived by his wife, one son and daughter, Joe and Jean, both of the home and by several brothers and sisters.
