Mrs. Laura Hayes, age 53, wife of John Hayes, died of complications at their home, 925 Ridgelawn avenue, at 5 p.m. Monday after an illness of nearly one year. She fell and broke her hip last December at her home, and had been in ailing health since. Although a native of Kentucky, Mrs. Hayes spent nearly all her life in Hamilton and was widely known and highly respected. Besides the bereaved widower, survivors are two daughter, Mrs. Edith McVicker, Cincinnati, and Mrs. W. J. Schneider, wife of Dr. W. J. Schneider, Hamilton; two sons, Marvin and Edgar, of Hamilton; three sisters, Mrs. Keith Clark, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Rose Tankersley and Mrs. Charles Kratzer, of Dayton; one brother, Dr. Thomas A. Robison [Robinson], of Corbin, Ky., and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Robert L. Klaus funeral home, F street and Elvin avenue, with Rev. H. A. Dickman, pastor of the Bethel church, officiating. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday.
