Millard Truman Kirkpatrick

Millard Truman Kirkpatrick was born in McDonough County, Illinois on 17 September 1868. He married on 28 January 1902 to Clara E. Voorhees, daughter of A. Voorhees. Clara was born and educated in McDonough County, Illinois also.
Milliard went to public schools in McDonough County, and completed a normal school course at age 23. He went to work for a building and loan association at Keithsburg, Illinois, but taught vocal music during the winter. Then for eight years he was engaged in operating a music store at Mercer County, Illinois. In 1898, he disposed of the store and established himself at Macomb, Illinois, with a wholesale and retail music business, operating over five counties and including branches at Warsaw, in Hancock County, and at Bushnell, Illinois. He handled mainly pianos, but also all musical instruments and sheet music. He was a Republican and a Mason (McComb Lodge No. 17). He was also active in the I.O.O.F.* and the Knights of Pythias. He was a Presbyterian.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Galesburg Township, Knox Co., Illinois, Milliadd [Millard] T. Kirkpatrick appears with his wife Clara E. and son Wendell B. Milliadd is a salesman of wholesale chemicals.
