The Contra Costa Times, November 14, 2004. "Bud" Marion L. Maynard. Bud passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his side, on November 11, 2004. A native of Missouri, Bud was born July 5, 1921. After serving in World War II, Bud worked at Shepherd Chevrolet and continued when it became Winter Chevrolet as Part Manager for more than 50 years. An avid fisherman, known affectionally by his CB handle as "Old Croaker", he spent his retirement fishing and making wood sculptures for family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Doris F. Maynard, two sons, Keith (Eloise) and Russell (Celia), one stepson Arnold Pehlke ( Nancy), 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Leora (Bradley) John [should be John Bradley] of Illinois. Services will be held Monday, November 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in Bud's name to Kaiser Hospice [address follows].
