Pine Bluff Commercial, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, June 24, 2004: Maxine Miracle Snider, 85, of Fayetteville died June 21, 2004, at Fayetteville. She was born March 9, 1919, in Hartman, the daughter of Hugh A. and Gladys Adkins Miracle. She was a member of University Baptist Church in Fayetteville and was a former member of Pen Women of America. She was a published writer of folklore and poetry and also was a prize-winning photographer. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two husbands, Joaquin O. Wasson, and Carl P. Fry. She is survived by her son, David J. Wasson and wife Janice of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, John David Wasson and wife Jenny and Jaimi Warner and husband Jonathan, all of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Austin Wasson of Springfield, Mo., Emily Haile and Allison Haile, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Lee Miracle Lewis and Carolyn Miracle Ross, both of Houston, Texas; one nephew, Doug Lewis of Houston; and one aunt, Elizabeth Leiter of San Angelo, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Woodland Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
