Johnson County Graphic, Clarksville, Arkansas, July 19, 2006: Hughie Lee Miracle Lewis, 79, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Brighton Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility in Bellaire, Texas. She was born April 20, 1927, to Hugh A. and Gladys Adkins Miracle in the Woodland Community near Clarksville, a 1943 graduate of Clarksville High School, widow of R. L. Lewis, former resident of Little Rock, where she was a legal and executive secretary, Wichita, Kan., where she was employed by Boeing, and New Orleans, La., where she was employed as an executive assistant to the director of the Boeing Michoud Space Facility and was named "New Orleans Secretary of the Year." In 1979 she moved to Houston, Texas, where she was executive assistant to the president of Soltex Polymer Company and later became human resources manager for the American Productivity and Quality Center. Upon retiring from APQC, she worked for a few years for her son at The Election Center in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by one son, Geoffrey Vaughn Lewis and one sister, Maxine Miracle Wasson Snider. Survivors include one son, Doug Lewis and wife, Vicki, of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Jason Lewis; one sister, Carolyn Miracle Ross and husband, William, of Houston, Texas; aunt, Elizabeth Leiter of San Angelo, Texas, formerly of Clarksville; nephew, David Wasson and wife, Janice, of Fayetteville; and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 17, in the Chapel of the Unity Church of Christianity in Houston, Texas.
