DeWitt Clinton Ristine

DeWitt Clinton Ristine departed this life Oct. 14, 1916. He was born in Indiana June 2, 1837. When about ten years of age he moved with his parents to Iowa, where he lived until 1880, when he came to Dawson county, Neb., locating five miles north-east of Gothenburg. He resided in this neighborhood until 1910, when he removed to Gothenburg, where he resided until his death.

In 1858 he was married to Catharine B. Campbell, and to this union were born 8 children, 7 of whom survive him. His wife died Nov. 15, 1893. On Oct. 10, 1901, he was married to Oney J. Campbell, who survives him. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, 7 children, 33 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Early in life he united with the M. E. church, and has ever since lived a true, consistent Christian life. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Arthur Atack at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon.
