Albert Newton Kirkpatrick

Albert Newton Kirkpatrick, the third child of John Newton and Sara C. (Wann) Kirkpatrick, was born at Elm Store, Randolph County, Arkansas, 23 November 1865. He grew up on a farm there and later he and his brother Hiram Tinsley Kirkpatrick operated a general merchandise store at Elm Store. About 1898 or 1899, he moved to Dalton, Arkansas, bought a store there and also became postmaster. He lived there until his death on 9 August 1939.
On 2 April 1899, he married in Dalton, Tola Caroline Chester, daughter of Jim and Caroline Chester. She was born 26 December 1880 near Dalton. After her husband's death, she moved to Bertrand, Missouri, and lived there with her daughter Nadine until her death 5 February 1958.
There were three (3) children born of the marriage.

Kirkpatrick, 73, died at his home at Dalton, 29 miles northwest of Pocahontas, yesterday. He was born and reared in Randolph county. He had been postmaster at Dalton for 41 years. Mr. Kirkpatrick is survived by wife; two daughters, Mrs. Vada Stubblefield of Eleven Point and Mrs. Nadine Barnett of Dalton, and two brothers, T. Kirkpatrick of Walnut Ridge and Riley Kirkpatrick of St. Louis, Mo.
It appears his son Perry Albert Kirkpatrick was left out of the obituary.
