Elizabeth Isabella Kirkpatrick

(23 Apr 1841 - 26 Sep 1891)

Elizabeth Isabella Kirkpatrick, second child of James A. F. and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick, was born 23 April 1841 in South Carolina. She married on 20 December 1855 to Francis L. Williams. She died 26 September 1891 and is buried in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama.

There were seven (7) children born of the marriage.

The following is a story related to Patsy Williams by the "old folks" in Jasper:

Francis (Frank) L. Williams is said to have come home after some 2 years and found that Elizabeth had a baby while he was gone, and the father was one of the slaves on the farm. The Old Folks in Jasper say that was more than he could stand so he "just kept on walking." I know that his parents lived in Randolph County....Elijah and Mary Williams. I suspect he went to their place, and they all uprooted and left that part of the country. Two years later, Elizabeth had another baby who was also fathered by a slave. These boys were named Robert and Charley.
