Arthur Winne Antisdel

Arthur Winne, son of Asa and Eveline [Evaline] Antisdel, was born in Bradford County, Penn., January 25th, 1884 and passed away November 7, 1948, at his home, north of Carl, where he had lived almost 42 years, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 13 days.
When only a few weeks of age he came with his parents to Adams County and has spent his entire life in this community.
In February, 1904, he was united in marriage to Addie Davis and to this union 4 sons and 4 daughters were born. All of whom with his devoted wife survive with one exception of one son, Glen, who passed away May 27, 1946. The surviving children are: Mrs. Carl Johnston of Carl; Claude of Orient; Cecil of Cromwell; Mrs. Floyd Campbell, Mrs. Rose Gipple and Dean of Bridgewater and Mrs. Virgil Martin of Fontanelle. He is also survived by two brothers: Leon A. and Lynn W. of Carl; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Seley of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Lulu Davis of Fontanelle, 3 daughters-in-law, 4 sons-in-law and 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Beside a host other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving husband, father and neighbor, was especially devoted to his grandchildren and was happy to have them in his home. He had been a great sufferer over a year and had been faithfully cared for by his family and who were all with him when the good Lord came and relieved him of his suffering.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Carl last Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. B. Weed, pastor of the Methodist church at Tingley and who was a formerly pastor at carl. The music was furnished by a mixed quartette composed of Mr. Lud Shatova, Mrs. Effie Glade, Mr. Paul Pote and Mr. Elto Williams, all of Bridgewater, who sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Sometime We'll Understand" and Mrs. Shatova sang "Beyond the Sunset" as a solo. Mrs. Clem Mimer played the accompaniment on the piano.
The Pall bearers were Otto Schrader, Dan Rechtenbach, Elmer Carl, John Fickel, Elmo Campen and Orma Campbell. The burial was made in the Carl cemetery.
