Posted at findagrave.com: Her obituary from the May 13, 2007, Indianapolis Star: Virginia Kirkpatrick Shank died Thursday May 10, 2007 of a mercifully brief illness in Brownsburg, Indiana. She was born on December 29, 1924 to Reverend Blaine Evron and Vernia Marks Kirkpatrick in Salem, Oregon. She lived a life of love and service to others and is survived by her husband of 60 years, William E. Shank; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Nicholas Brown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; a daughter and son-in-law, Cydney and Randy Wentsel, of Baltimore, Maryland; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lisa Shank, of Brownsburg, Indiana; a son, Bill Shank, of Carbondale, Colorado; five grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. She is irreplaceable and all who knew her will miss her dearly. Friends are invited to gather and attend a memorial service on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, 5252 West 52nd Street, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bethel United Methodist Church.
