Posted at findagrave.com: Southern Illinoisan, Thursday, March 28, 1974---Hallie F. Crowder, 85, Sesser, died early today in his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Crowder was a World War I Veteran. He was born April 9, 1888 to John and Lydia Whiting Crowder. Survivors are his wife, the former Lillie Fairless; and a son, Wilber, [of] Chester. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Christian Church, Sesser. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser. Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Brayfield Funeral Home, Sesser.
