Seymour Herald, Seymour, Iowa, September 27, 1923, Page 1: Jacob Newton Wolf, was born in Putman [Putnam] County, Mo, June 11, 1878 and died at Centerville, Ia. September 11, 1923, being 45 yrs and 3 months of age. He was the oldest of four children of Ezra and Minerva Wolf, his brothers being: E. N. Wolf of Denver, Colo., and Wm. Wolf of Unionville, Mo., and one sister Mrs. Laura Durbin of Unionville, Missouri. When 14 years of age he accepted Christ under the preaching of Elijah McKinley of Unionville, Mo, and affiliated with the Church of Christ. On December 16, 1908 he was united in marriage to Nella Lord of Promise City, Ia. To this union four children have been born, the oldest Lelah May, having died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his early departure his wife, two daughters, Cleo and Iris and one son Zomer, his aged father and mother, his brothers and sister and a host of relatives and friends. In August 1920 he moved to Promise City, Iowa, to educate his children and has made this his home since that time. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Promise City, always active in the interest of the Public Schools and a good citizen and a good neighbor.Funeral services were conducted by Elder Ammons of Seymour, at the Christian Church in Promise City, on Thursday September 13, 1923, and burial at the Promise City Cemetery.
