Hiram was born in Buckhorn, KY, June 12, 1922; was an Army paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Div. in the European Theater during WW II; Navy veteran on Cruiser U.S.S. Huntington CL-107 during the Korean Conflict; Life member of the A. L. #746, V.F.W. 6500 & 82nd Airborne Division; was Bingo Party Chairman at the V.A. Hospital for 28 years; retired from Chrysler with 30 years service. Preceded in death by his parents, Reed & Martha Johnson. Survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Betty; 1 sister & brother-in-law, Ethel and Larry VanTine of Dayton; 2 brothers and sisters-n-law, A. B. and Annabelle Johnson of Berea, KY, Reed Jr. & Carol Johnson of Englewood , Ruby Doty; & several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 10:00 AM Saturday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home, Northridge Chapel, 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Rd. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery. Rev. Jack Combs officiating with special prayer by Sister Yvonne. Hiram's family will receive friends 6-8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
