Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Tuesday, June 22, 1971, Page 13: Doctor In Berea Dies At Age 48. Berea, Ky.---Dr. Earl T. Hays, 48, who had practiced medicine in Berea since 1955, died early Monday at this home in the Baker Addition here after an illness. A native of Berea, Dr. Hays was graduated from Berea College in 1944 and received his M.D. in 1949 from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. A member of the Union Church here, Dr. Hays also was a member of the Oleika Shrine of Lexington; the American Medical Association, and the Madison county Medical Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Cooper Hays, and two brothers, Elbridge Hays of Miami, Fla., and Albert Hays of McKee. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rominger Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
