Luther Clarence Ristine was born near Gothenburg, Nebr., on August 8, 1892, and departed from this life Dec. 18, 1942, at the age of fifty years, four months and ten days. He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born and on June 17, 1917, was married to Opal Gibson. To this union four children were born. Mrs. Doris Johnson of Provo, Utah; Archie, of Richmond, Calif.; and Beryl and Helen of Waco, Nebraska. On October 12th, 1938, he was married to Thelva Elliott. two daughters were born to this union, Rosalie Kay and Kathleen Ann. He leaves to mourn him, his wife, Thelva, two sons, four daughters, one brother, Cecil of Gothenburg, and many other relatives and friends. He spent most of his life in the community where he grew up, until in March 1941, he moved to Waco. The end of life came in the Lutheran hospital at York, Neb. In young manhood he was converted and joined the Walnut Grove Methodist church, where he took an active part until he left that community. He was a kind husband, a loving father, enjoying his family very much. His friends can be numbered by those who knew him and he will be missed by many. Funeral services were held Sunday at York at the Metz Mortuary, in charge of Rev. C. R. Garver, and Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Gothenburg Methodist church, in charge of Rev. Mearl C. Smith. Interment was in Grandview cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ed Robison, Olof Pearson, Gene Roark, Archie F. Smith, Harm Junker and Carl Courter. Grand View Cemetery Gothenburg Nebraska.
