Whitmore, 56, of Kewanee for the past 10 years, formerly of Aurora, died at 8:28 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at his residence. Born Feb. 3, 1948, in Burlington, Wis., to Lester L. and Ruth E. Clason Whitmore, he married Susan A. Piotrowski on June 7, 1969, in Moundsville, W.Va. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of Union Grove, Wis.; three daughters, Regina (and David) Shaefer of Naperville, Melissa (and Leland) Hoburg of Kewanee and Jessica Whitmore of Chicago; one brother, William (and Inger) of Waukegan; and four grandchildren. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was the corporate credit manager for Unistrut, Tyco International in Itasca. He had worked as a credit manager at Martin Engineering in Neponset. He was a member of the Kewanee Masonic Lodge. He had been a member of the Kewanee Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Kewanee, where a memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Private burial of ashes will be at a later date. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church.
